The candidates for Ochiltree County’s Constable election met last Thursday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse to draw for ballot position for the election. Tim Oliveras will be in first position on the ballot, with Nick Hale second.

Clothing House to temporarily close The Church of Christ Clothing House at 822 S. Drake will be closed until Wednesday, Jan. 3 from 9-4p.m. They will also be open Friday, Jan. 3 from 9-4p.m. and will resume normal hours after.

CrimeStoppers ‘Fast Cash’

On Dec. 20, 2023, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: David L. Garrard, no personal information was available. Last known address was Perryton. There is one misdemeanor warrant for Garrard for issuance of bad checks.

POLICE REPORT

County jail activity over the past two weeks included: MiguelAngel Alegria, 54, was arrested on a second degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a misdemeanor offense of evading arrest or detention, and on suspicion of being an illegal alien.

Jennie June Club meets Dec. 13 at Senior Center

The Jennie June Club met Dec. 13 at the Senior Citizen Center. Hostesses for the meeting were Penny Clark, Janet L. Blasingame, Debbie Kinsey and Joan Quist. Barbara Johnson, president, led members in the reading of the collect.

OGH board okays buying portable X-ray machine

The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met on Monday evening at the conference center at Ochiltree General Hospital. Among other items on the agenda, the board members discussed the purchase of a new portable X-ray machine.

Senior News

Well, it’s almost time to retire my 2023 calendar. Thank goodness, it’s looking a little ragged. We had a very successful year at the center, but also a lot of sadness with the loss of precious members. Time to begin a new chapter.
