Rosalie Tejeda was born on Monday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, at 8:03 p.m. Her parents are Brian and Victoria Tejeda, and she was delivered by Dr. Rachel O’Beirne. Rosalie weighed seven pounds, four ounces and measured 19.4 inches.

Clothing House to temporarily close The Church of Christ Clothing House at 822 S. Drake will be closed until Wednesday, Jan. 3 from 9-4p.m. They will also be open Friday, Jan. 3 from 9-4p.m. and will resume normal hours after.

City sales tax receipts down

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payments ended the year on a down note. For December, the city’s payment of $236,643 was down a little over 4%, and down 3.5% from its year to date payments of $3.13 million. Around the area, it was a mixed bag of increases and decreases.

Local businesses, organizations set New Year’s holiday closings

The end of 2023 is almost upon us, and many Perryton businesses, organizations, and governmental offices will be closed to let their employees celebrate the New Year’s holiday. Perryton Independent School District and Frank Phillips College,Allen Campus are both closed for their holiday breaks.

United Way drive close to goal

The Ochiltree United Way’s fund drive is close to reaching its 2024 goal, with more donations coming in this week. The drive has now raised $92,158, which is 98% of its $94,300 goal.

Commissioners approve sheriff salary increase

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Wednesday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners approved a $4,700 increase in Ochiltree County Sheriff Terry Bouchard’s salary to $75,000 a year, effective immediately.
