Brown to headline Chamber banquet

The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce will host its annual banquet and silent auction on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. for patrons to bid on numerous silent auction items. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.

City sales tax payment takes another slight dip

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payment for February was down slightly from last February. The city received $279,545, which is 3% less than February 2023. For the year so far, it has received $527,957, around 4% less than 2023.

Perry Memorial Library and Paper & Cloth Memories held a free craft day on Friday, Feb. 9, inviting crafters of all ages to visit the library to create some Valentines crafts. In addition to Valentines Day cards, crafters also made a favor box and a scrapbook page.

The smallest of the trumpets is the piccolo trumpet, which was invented by Victor- Charles Mahillon, a Belgian instrument maker, in 1890. The instrument is pitched an octave higher than a normal trumpet.

Kiwanis Auction set for March The Perryton Kiwanis Club will hold its 40th annual auction fundraiser Saturday, March 16, at the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The auction is the major fund-raising event of the year for the Kiwanis Club. Consignments and donations can be made until March 15.

Recent Ochiltree County Jail included: Miguel Angel Chavez, 31, was arrested on three fourth degree felony charges for bond surrender on debit/ credit card abuse and a bond surrender warrant for a third degree felony charge of fraudulent use of identifying information.
