This coming Monday is the last meeting for Ready, Set and Thrive. Laurie does such a good job teaching these classes, made available through the Amarillo Agency on Aging. I’m sure we will be seeing her again just as soon as she comes up with another plan for us.

One more files for May 4 election

Another incumbent has filed for re-election in the May 4 general election. WesBeal has filed for another term on the Perryton School Board. Incumbent Chris Lingo has also filed for re-election. The other term up for election on the school board is currently held by Bryce Hale.

District changes little with UIL realignment

Not much changed for Perryton High School in the 2024-26 UIL realignment announced last Thursday. For football only, Perryton will be in District 2-4A, DII, with Borger, Levelland, and new additions, Lubbock Cooper Liberty and Lubbock Estacado.

Council approves review of fire-EMS for future

The Perryton City Council decided to appoint a joint service contract review committee, and continue the disaster declaration at its meeting Tuesday evening. City Manager David Landis discussed the joint service committee.

Local volunteers for Snack Pak 4 Kids gathered Monday evening at Williams Intermediate Elementary School to pack snacks for hungry kids. Volunteers meet every few weeks to pack snack bags with nutritious food to help food-insecure students stave off hunger. The Snack Pak 4 Kids program has been distributing over 100 packs every week to kids in Perryton.
