Library to host scrapbooking craft day Perry Memorial Library will host a free craft day on Friday, April 19, from 1-4 p.m. called “Scrapbooking 101: Organizing Photos and Albums.” Participants will learn different ways to organize, store, and display photos and memorabilia.

The Rotary Club is soliciting renewals and sign up for the flag service for residents of Perryton.They will provide a 3 x 5 foot nylon flag with sewn stripes andembroidered stars to be placed at your home, business, or in group displays in thecommunity. The flags will be displayed from 7 a.m.

Jennie June Club has program updating tornado recovery efforts

The Jennie June Club met Wednesday, April 10, in the upstairs office of Perryton Furniture. Hostesses were Arlene Boxwell, Phillis Oquin and Kara Malaney.The program, given by Mayor Kerry Symons and Chief Deputy Wayne Floyd, was an update on Perryton’s tornado recovery efforts.

Early voting starts Monday; candidate forum scheduled

Early voting in the May 4 general election starts this Monday, April 22 for Perryton School Board and Perryton City Council.A candidate forum featuring all the candidates has also been scheduled on April 22, at 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center.
Perryton High School’s annual art show will run through May 15 during school hours at the high school. Visitors can also see the displayed art after school hours on May 6 and on May 15. The Best in Show and purchase prize award went to Pedro Uribe for “Collapsed,” a color pencil drawing. Uribe also received a $150 cash prize for his winning artwork. URIBE WINS BEST OF SHOW

PHS art show spotlights student talent in all media

Perryton High School’s annual art show began on Monday.The show, featuring art created this year by PHS art students, will run through May 15 during school hours at the high school.

City’s sales tax payment for April is up 12%

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payment for April showed another healthy increase.The city received $240,329, which is a little over 12% higher than last March. For the year so far, its payments of $989,481 are up 1.7% over 2023.
