City’s sales tax payment up 9%

The City of Perryton had more good news in its latest sales tax allocation payment for June.The city’s payment of $231,838 was up nearly 9% from last June, and its year to date payments of $1.5 million were 2% higher than June 2023.

Oil Patch Golf Tournament scheduled for July 12-14

The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 50th annual Oil Patch Golf Tournament on July 12-14 at the Perryton Golf Course to honor the oil and gas industry in the Perryton area.The Oil Patch tourney is an 18-hole scramble for four players, with great payouts and hole prizes.

Last Friday, the U.S. Department of Economic Development Administration formally announced the City of Perryton as the recipient of a $2.7 million grant from the EDA.The announcement was made by Jorge Ayala, regional director of the U.S.
Local county residents are turning out for the Ochiltree County Farmers Market every Saturday for their pick of farm-fresh vegetables, homemade bread and pastries, and handmade crafts and quilts. The Farmers Market will be open in the Perryton National Bank parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through mid-September.
