Perryton Lions Club members got together on Saturday morning to get fireworks unloaded and fuses installed in anticipation of their annual fireworks show coming up on Thursday, the Fourth of July, at Wolf Creek Park. The annual fireworks display will begin just after dusk, about 9:30-9:45 p.m.

Perryton High School choir member Gus Hernandez was recognized at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble competition as an Outstanding Performer. Out of more than 9,500 soloists at the competition, Hernandez was one of only 286 who earned the Outstanding Performer ranking.
