City prepares for active mosquito season

Summer means summer rainstorms, and while rain may be great for grass and flowers, it also means it’s prime mosquito season again. All it takes is a little moisture in a container to grow mosquitoes.

Woman dies in one-vehicle crash

A local woman died in a single-vehicle accident southwest of Perryton on Sunday evening.Kacy Courson, age 40, of Perryton died in the accident on July 7.According to Texas Highway Patrol Troopers investigating the accident, the incident took place at approximately 7:28 p.m. on Sunday, on FM 2711, 6.

Abbott appoints PUC member

Gov. Greg Abbotthas appointed Courtney Hjaltman to the Public Utility Commission of Texas, filling the final vacancy on that board. The PUC regulates the state’s utility industries — electric, water, wastewater, and telecommunications.
