Pantex donates ambulance to city

The City of Perryton has received a donation of an ambulance from the Pantex facility in Carson County.Pantex had previously loaned Perryton the ambulance after the June 2023 tornado that damaged the Perryton Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services station in Perryton City Hall.

School board sets date for public hearing on budget

The Perryton ISD Board of Trustees held a meeting on Friday, Aug. 2.The board opened the floor for open forum; with no one present to speak, the board convened in executive session.Following executive session, the board approved student transfers, adopted a proposed tax rate of $0.

Sales tax holiday this weekend

Texas’ annual sales tax holiday is next weekend. The event will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9-11.State law exempts sales tax on qualified items — such as clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks — priced below $100, saving shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.
