Free dental clinic to be held in Amarillo

A free dental clinic has been scheduled for November 8-9 in Amarillo.The clinic will be held at the Amarillo Civic Center at 401 S. Buchanan Street beginning at 6 a.m. and is sponsored in part by the Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM).No proof of identification, documentation, or insurance are required.

On Oct. 30, 2024, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: Blanca Flores, no personal information was available. Last known address was Canadian. There is one misdemeanor warrant for Flores for issuance of bad checks.

PHS sets annual program honoring veterans Nov. 12

Perryton High School will honor veterans of Perryton and the surrounding area with a special program on Friday, Nov. 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the Perryton High School auditorium.Registration, check-in, and coffee and muffins for all veterans will be at 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the program.

A funeral service was held on Monday for Assistant Fire Chief Scott Glass who died after a firefighting accident on Oct. 20. Afterwards, a procession of firefighting trucks and vehicles from around the area escorted Glass’ body and his family to Ochiltree County Cemetery for burial.

Early voting is high; election is this Tuesday

Ochiltree County voters have two days left to cast early ballots in this Tuesday’s Nov. 5 general election .As of late Wednesday afternoon, 1,776 early ballots had been cast locally.The early voting period runs through this Friday, Nov. 1.
