The Perryton Activity Center sponsored a basketball camp called the 2020 Christmas Basketball Bash basketball on Dec. 21-23 at the PAC. Hoops fans from second to eighth grade got to practice and enhance their skills under the tutelage of David Chavlovich and Rhyan Daugherty.

Bulldogs bite Rangers

The Perryton Ranger basketball team ran into a tough Hooker Bulldog team on the road Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs shot very well, dominated the first half and won by answering second half rallies by the Rangers. Hooker took the game by the final score of 71-51.

Rettes struggle late in Friday’s game

The Rangerette basketball team held a comfortable lead heading into the second half of Friday’s game against the Hooker Lady Bulldogs. Unfortunately, an injury and struggling to score led to the demise of the Rettes in the game, as they lost by the final score of 60-51.

Rangers return to the hardwood

After spending time off for Covid quarantine, the Rangers hit the court over the weekend for two quick games. Perryton split the games this weekend, with a victory over Dalhart and a tough loss against the Caprock Longhorns.

Mosquitos’ Young Eaten

Not all mosquito larvae start out in stagnant freshwater ponds, some survive in saltwater. Some larvae are useful in mosquito control because they have chewing, grasping mouth parts that enable them to eat other mosquitoes’ young.

PJH 8 th Grade Girls “B” Basketball

The PJH eighth grade girls “B” team notched a 26- 22 win when they hosted Borger on Dec. 14. After the end of the first quarter, Borger led 7-4, but by the half, Perryton took a slim 11-10 lead.

Ring the Bell

Boxing was introduced in the modern Olympic Games in the 1904 Olympiad in St. Louis. America took all three medals – probably because the U.S. was the only country to enter any competitors in boxing that year.

Rettes split games over the weekend

The Rangerettes felt like an NBA team with back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday nights. The Rettes split the two games by losing to Dalhart on Friday before bouncing back for a win at Caprock on Saturday. Perryton hosted the Dalhart Lady Wolves on Friday.

PJH 7 th Grade Girls “B” Basketball

The PJH seventh grade girls “B” team hosted Borger on Dec. 14, losing the contest, 25-17. The score was close in the first half. After the first period, Perryton led 3-2, and by the half, the score was knotted at 9-9.

Lady Deputies JV Basketball

A girls basketball team from Perryton traveled to Booker for a game with the girls Kiowa varsity basketball team last week. The Perryton team was made up of varsity and JV players. It was a good night for the Perryton girls, winnng 43- 28.
