Powerlifters dominate at their home meet

The weights clanged, the result screens flashed, the lifters grunted, and the coaches yelled support as the PHS powerlifting teams hosted their annual invitational meet on Saturday. Both the boys and girls teams from Perryton won the event easily.

Rangers cage Bulldogs

The Ranger basketball team travelled to Borger for the first district match-up between the two teams on Friday. Perryton took control of the game early and secured an easy victory by outscoring the Bulldogs in three of the four quarters. The Rangers took the victory by the final score of 65-54.

Rettes hustle in road loss

The Rangerette basketball team traveled to Hereford to challenge the Lady Whitefaces on Tuesday. It was the first game between the two squads in some time, as the larger Hereford school moved into the 4A standings last year.

Hereford Whitefaces stampede Rangers

The Ranger basketball team traveled to Hereford on Tuesday to face the Whitefaces in their tough home venue. A dreadful quarter of basketball spelled defeat for the Rangers as they struggled to score in the third quarter, with only 2 points.

Rangers pick up exciting home victory

It came down to the final buzzer on Friday night in Perryton as the Rangers hosted the Dumas Demons for a barn burner. The game was a back-and-forth affair with neither team being able to distance themselves with a big lead.

Television stolen

It was another week with very little crimes reported, but again the Ochiltree County Jail was busy. Arthur Mabry, 1518 Indiana, reported a 75-inch flat screen television had been stolen from his residence.

PJH 7th Grade Girls “B” Basketball

The PJH seventh grade girls basketball “B” team traveled to Guymon Jan. 18. The Guymon team outgunned them 51-6. After the first quarter, Guymon was up 21-0, and by the half had increased their lead to 37-1. Perryton added 2 points in the third period, while Guymon put in 14 more.

PJH 8th Grade Girls “B” Basketball

The PJH eighth grade girls “B” team took on Guymon there Jan. 18, and brought home a 45-9 victory. Perryton led 10-3 at the end of the first period, and were up 18-5 by the half.

Rettes continue to roll

The Rangerette basketball team continued district play, with another win on Friday in Perryton. The Dumas Demonettes came to town to face the Rettes for one of the newest district rivalries.

Lady Deputies JV Basketball

The Lady Deputies traveled to Pampa Tuesday evening for a district game with the Lady Harvesters Junior Varsity basketball team. Perryton won the game 25-10. Perryton got off to a strong start, outscoring Pampa 11-2 in the first quarter.
