Rangers notch big 44-10 victory over Lobos

The Rangers made the long road trip to Levelland on Friday, and brought home a big 44-10 win in their first district contest. The Rangers’ offense and defense made several outstanding plays throughout the game, including numerous big offensive plays for big yardage.

Lady Bulldogs sweep Rangerettes

The second district meeting between the Borger Lady Bulldogs and the Perryton Rangerettes occurred Tuesday in Perryton. The Rettes struggled in the first contest in Borger and lost in three sets.

Hereford dominates the Rangerettes

The Rangerette volleyball team travelled to Hereford to face the dominant Lady Whitefaces on Saturday. Perryton traveled with only eight players on the roster. The Rangerette lineup was limited in numbers due to injuries, illness and discipline issues.

Rangers outrun the competition

The Perryton High School cross country teams tuned up for the district meet by running in the 2021 Lathrop Memorial Meet at West Texas A&M University on Saturday. The Rangers took the team title while the Rangerettes ran third as a team.

Rangers to open district with road trip to Levelland

After a week off, the Rangers will hit the road for the long trip to Levelland Friday. Game time is 7 p.m. The Lobos were on the short end of a 31-17 contest last Friday with the Borger Bulldogs. Borger was ahead 21-10 at the half, and by the end of the third, they increased their lead to 31-10.

Lady Harvesters defeat the Rettes

The hard-hitting Pampa Lady Harvester volleyball team came to Perryton to face the Rettes on Tuesday. Pampa is loaded with talent, with length and power on the front row and quickness on the back row defense. Pampa controlled the action and won in three sets by the scores of 26-9, 25-10 and 25-15.

Demonettes haunt the Rettes

The Rangerette volleyball team travelled to Dumas to face the Demonettes on Saturday. Dumas remains a powerhouse, with a long winning history and loads of talent. Regardless of their UIL classification, the Demonettes always contend for a district title.

Cross country runs in Spearman meet

The Ranger and Rangerette cross country teams competed in the annual Palo Duro Lake XC Invitational on Saturday. The meet is filled with tough competition on an excellent course and is close to home. Ten boys’ and 11 girls’ teams took advantage of perfect weather to challenge the course.

Price of a name

When Elihu Yale gave $2,500 to the Collegiate School, its name was changed to Yale University. When John Harvard bequeathed $3,500 and a small library to Cambridge College, its name was changed to Harvard University.

Rangerettes host the Canyon Lady Eagles

The power hitting Canyon Lady Eagle volleyball team came to Perryton on Tuesday. It was the second match of the district season for each team. Perryton looked to enter the win column against the heavily favored Lady Eagles. Canyon expected to continue their winning streak.
