MORE FISH IN THE LAKES—Two seniors on Perryton High School’s Bass Fishing team are in seventh place overall, out of 217 other teams, and are in the running for scholarships from the Texas High School Bass Association.

Rangers play in Woodward Tournament

The Ranger basketball team crossed state lines to play in the Woodward, OK tournament last week. Competition was tough, with several large Oklahoma schools vying for the title. The Rangers opened play against the Woodward Boomers. Julian Cervantes had his best game of the year for Perryton.

Rangers cage Tigers

Coach Chad Farmer’s Ranger basketball team traveled to Guymon to take on the Tigers on Tuesday. The Rangers entered the contest fresh off a productive weekend at the Lamesa Tournament. The Tigers offered an early season challenge to the Rangers with their speed and athleticism.

Lady Tigers corner the Rangerettes

The home team jumped out to an early lead on Tuesday and defeated the Rangerette basketball team by the final score of 49-33. The Guymon Lady Tigers outscored Perryton in three of the four quarters to take the victory. Aggressive defense buckets in transition served the Lady Tigers well.

Rangerettes compete in Lamesa Tournament

The Rangerette basketball team had a busy weekend of games at the Lamesa Tournament. They played five games against varying levels of competition, which allowed them to prepare for the upcoming district season. Perryton opened the tournament against a talented Sands Lady Mustangs team.

The Rangers traveled to Lamesa to play in their first basketball tournament of the early season over the weekend. Perryton was able to play five games against good competition.

Greyhounds slip by the Rangers in OT

The Ranger basketball team traveled to Gruver to challenge a very talented Greyhound team on Tuesday. The action on the court ebbed and flowed for each team, with the squads being tied at the end of regulation.

Rangers open the season with a win

Several Rangers jumped from the football field to the basketball court without missing a beat on Nov. 22. Coach Chad Farmer took his squad to Dalhart to open the season against a long-time rival. Perryton moved the ball around the floor and controlled the action while picking up the win.

Dalhart, Bushland defeat Rangerettes

Before the Thanksgiving break, the Rangerettes basketball team played games against Dalhart nd Bushland Rettes v. Lady Wolves The Rangerette basket-ball team took advantage of the Thanksgiving break for a rare afternoon game in Dalhart on Monday, Nov. 22.
