Clifford Neil McGarraugh, Jr., 79, of Perryton, died July 30, 2023.
Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church in Perryton with Rev. Bill Newman officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1945, and grew up the family farm south of Perryton. He was a farmer and rancher.
He served on the boards of the Museum of the Plains, Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce and Ochiltree County Senior Citizens Association. He also served as an Ochiltree County commissioner andwas a volunteer firefighter. He also held chuckwagon dinners to support several local organizations.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Neil; one grandson, Cole McGarraugh; and one greatgrandson, Mateo Pena.
He is survived by three children, Neil McGarraugh, Cody McGarraugh and Mary McGarraugh; his mother, Alta Wood; one brother, Scott McGarraugh; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Harrington Cancer Center, 1751 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo TX 79106; the Senior Citizen Center, P.O. Box 738, Perryton; or one’s favorite charity.
