Johnny Bob Young

Johnny Bob Young, 67, of Balko, OK passed away on August 18, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Holman officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.

Johnny was born on June 22, 1957 to Earl D. Young and Billie Marie Drake in Tulia and grew up a few miles down the road in Kress. He married the love of his life, Tammy Young on September 4, 2011, in Point.

Johnny spent his life dedicated to his craft and his passions. Johnny honed his skills and craftsmanship as a diesel mechanic in Perryton, where he established his own successful business, Johnny’s Equipment & Repair. For 35 years, Johnny built a reputation for excellence and reliability in the heavy equipment industry, where he could fix anything that came his way.

His love for cars, drag racing, and anything with an internal combustion engine was unparalleled, and he enjoyed spending his free time indulging in these passions. Johnny was also known for the love he had for his grandchildren, spending time in his barn with friends & family, music, & drinking. Johnny was loved by so many and will be missed by countless friends and family.

Johnny is survived by his wife; Tammy Briggs Young of Balko; mother, Billie Marie Drake of Plainview; children, Celenda Young and spouse Noel Aulds of Bryan, Tiffany Young and husband Kevin Mcbee of Amarillo, Jennifer Williams and husband Tony, of Emory, and Holli Randolph and partner Brandon Gowin of Henderson; siblings, Coleman Young and wife Melissa of Lazbuddie, Merrie Young of Lazbuddie, Sanda Aven and husband Brett of Plainview; and grandchildren, Adrian Espinoza, Austin Mcbee, Hazely Mcbee, Shane Howell, Preston Warren and partner Bayli Subin, Colt Whatley, and great-grandson Elliot Warren.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father; Earl D. Young.
