Jim Bill Dodson

James William “Jim Bill” Dodson passed away at the age of 93 in San Antonio, on March 27, 2022.

Jim Bill was born on July 7, 1928 to Jim and Mary Dodson in Perryton. He grew up in Perryton and helped his parents with the family farm, which he later took over and farmed himself.

He became involved in several business ventures, including Hardee’s and the Dutch Inn of Perryton. After leaving Perryton, he moved to Oklahoma, where he raised and showed champion longhorn cattle. He was very involved in the longhorn industry, winning the world show three times.

Jim Bill retired and moved to Bandera. He had a multitude of friends and enjoyed his last years very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Clayton Lydell Dodson and James William Dodson, Jr.

He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Giesler and husband Steve of Grand Junction, CO, son Randall Dodson and wife Valinda of Perryton; grandchildren, Vandy (Clint) Wade of Midland, Stewart (Liz) Dodson of Amarillo, Kam (Katelyn) Dodson of Perryton, Mark (Mica) Dodson of Perryton, and Ky Dodson of Norman, OK; seven greatgrandchildren; and dear friend Terry Pfeiffer.

A burial will be held in Ochiltree Cemetery at a later date.
