COVID-19 cases rise to 62

According to the State of Texas, Ochiltree County’s official tally of COVID-19 cases has risen to 62, with a total of nine active cases so far. The Texas Department of State Health Services says there have been 51 recoveries from the virus in the county and only two deaths.

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers needs information this week to solve a vehicle burglary. On June 17, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of South Drake for a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, the complainant reported several items stolen from a vehicle.

July sales tax check continues downward slide

The City of Perryton continued to see a drop in sales tax revenues in July. The city received a check for $184,314, down around 26% from July 2019. For the year so far, its payments of $1.55 million are down close to 13%.
