2020 PHS Reunion postponed The 2020 Perryton High School Ex-Students and Ex-Teachers Reunion has been postponed until fall 2021 due to current challenges. The reunion was originally scheduled for August. For reunion updates go to the “PHS All Classes Reunion” Facebook page.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced a lot of changes on Perryton schools, including making it more difficult for many athletes to keep up their training regimens. Perryton High School coaches invited students back to campus this week to help them get back in shape for sports next semester.

Perryton water park to open Friday

The Perryton Municipal Water Park will open this Friday, June 12. The regular hours for the water park are Monday through Saturday from 1-7 p.m. On Sundays, the pool is open from 2-6 p.m.

COVID-19 count up to 54

Ochiltree General Hospital’s official count of Coronavirus cases rose slightly from last weekend, with 54 positive cases, according to the hospital’s last official scorecard released on Tuesday afternoon.

Commissioners appoint Smith to JP office

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday, June 8, at the county courthouse. The commissioners announced that long-time Justice of the Peace Braden Karber had decided to retire by the end of the month, so the commissioners planned to appoint a new JP.

BLOOD FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Coffee Memorial Blood Center held a blood drive at Frank Phillips College Allen Campus in Perryton on Tuesday afternoon. The blood drive’s goal was to perform 70 procedures on donors — the final tally for the drive was 79 procedures, yielding 88 units of blood. Pictured are technician C.J.

Work continues on the Ochiltree County Law Enforcement Center east of the county courthouse, but the building’s official opening has been tentatively pushed back to August 15.
