EVERYONE LOVES A PARADE

Residents at The Seasons assisted living facility were outside to greet friends, family, and well-wishers as a parade passed by. The parade was organized by Ochiltree General Hospital to help show support for everyone living and working at The Seasons during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It seems some folks in this world are just born to be successful. The Schoenhals sisters definitely fit into that category. They are both outstanding role models for all young girls.

Scam, burglaries investigated

Crime picked up during the week, with several incidents reported to local law enforcement. A local business was the victim of an apparent scam. A man called saying he had a package containing several cameras and a monitor for the business, but needed to be paid $500 up front.

Parade set to show support at Seasons There will be a parade on Thursday, June 18, at 6 p.m. to show support for residents and staff at The Seasons assisted living center. Participants will gather at Victory Family Church at 5:30 p.m.

Virtual wheat tour provides statewide research, trial updates

Texas A&M AgriLife wheat research and variety trials did not take a break during the COVID-19 pandemic. But it was not possible to conduct a traditional May wheat field tour, so Texas A&M AgriLife faculty across the state are bringing fields to producers – virtually.

Hot days are sending kids out looking for ways to keep cool, and many are discovering the wading pools at Leatherman and Murphy Parks. Enjoying a cool dip at Leatherman Park are Juan Navarrete, age 5, Brantley Chriestenson, 5, and Breanna Chriestenson, 11.

MONITOR WELLS ADDED AROUND CITY

Work crews have been busy drilling new monitor wells around Perryton to check carbon tetrachloride levels. Five new well sites have been added to the previous 15. In 1989, carbon tetrachloride contamination was discovered around one of the city’s water wells.
