The Harrington Cancer Center and Health Foundation has entered a partnership with the City of Perryton to place seven sunscreen dispensers across the city, including the Perryton Municipal Water Park, the golf course, local parks, and baseball fields.

School board buys online learning system, delays start of school

In a special meeting Monday, the Perryton School Board decided to delay the start of school one week, purchase an online learning system and hired several personnel. After some discussion, the board decided to purchase the Wisdom Learning Management System that was presented at the June meeting.

The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met for their regular monthly meeting on Monday evening at Ochiltree General Hospital. The board members reviewed and approved a new telecommuting policy for OGH employees.

Tips still needed on two stolen firearms

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers still needs information this week to solve a vehicle burglary. On June 17, officers were dispatched to the 1600 lock of South Drake for a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, the complainant reported several items stolen from a vehicle.

Prepaid tuition program newborn enrollment deadline approaches

Texas families have through July 31 to enroll their newborns in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund® and pay this academic year’s rates for all or some future tuition and schoolwide required fees at Texas public colleges and universities, excluding medical and dental institutions.

Leadership Perryton Class XVIII graduates 25

Graduation of the 18th class of Leadership Perryton was held recently. Twentyfive members completed the nine-month leadership development course and received a special award at their last class. Due to COVID-19, a luncheon with employers and sponsors was not able to be held.
