Early voting ends Friday in Nov. 3 election

Voters have through this Friday, Oct. 30, to cast an early ballot in the Nov. 3 general election. This year, early voting is conducted in the meeting room of Perry Memorial Library. Voters should use the entrance off Ash Street, just south of the main library entrance.

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court changed some cemetery rules at its meeting on Monday morning at the County Courthouse. The commissioners approved new rules of operation for the Ochiltree County Cemetery.

United Way drive tops 42% so goal

The Ochiltree United Way’s donations for the 2021 fund drive continued to climb last week. By last Friday, the drive had raised $38,195 in contributions, which is 42% of the $90,000 goal. Two new 100% Companies were also added, bringing the total to six.

Perryton ISD to suspend remote learning Nov. 10

The Perryton School Board, at its meeting Tuesday evening, decided to discontinue remote learning, citing the benefits of “face to face” learning. Superintendent James Mireles said there are many reasons to go back to the classroom.
