Sept. 30 is deadline for farmers to update crop yields for USDA safety net program

USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds farm owners that they have a onetime opportunity to update Price Loss Coverage (PLC) program yields for covered commodities on the farm. The deadline is Sept. 30, 2020, to update yields, which are used to calculate the PLC payments for 2020 through 2023.

On Sept. 16, 2020, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: Janelle Zastrow, white female. Date of birth, Jan. 15, 1993. Height, 5’4”, weight, 100 pounds. Brown eyes, brown hair. Last known address was Wichita Falls.

Ranger CC dominates

The site of the Amarillo ISD Invitational Cross Country Meet was a busy place on Saturday. Athletes from near and far took to the course to test their skills. Each varsity division of both the boys’ and girls’ sides had four groups of races. The Perryton squads competed in Division C on the agenda.

Campsite, residence burglarized

Stolen property cases and missing license plates topped activity for local law enforcement. Isaiah Subealdea of Amarillo reported several items stolen from his campsite at Wolf Creek Park. Taken were a rod and reel, a backpack containing fishing tackle and other items, sunglasses and a raft.

Luminaria ceremony planned Relay for Life is planning a drive-through Luminaria Ceremony on Oct. 15 from 7-8 p.m. at Whigham Park during Moonlight Madness. This event is in honor of cancer survivors and in memory of patients lost.

CONSTITUTION WEEK SET FOR SEPT. 17-23

Perryton Mayor Kerry Symons signed a proclamation last week recognizing the local Wolf Creek chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Constitution Week, which runs from Sept. 17-23.
