Justice of the peace sworn in at county meeting

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met for their regular meeting on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners presided over the official swearing in for William “Bucky” Goldsberry, the new Justice of the Peace.

21 Rangers named to All District team

The Perryton Rangers had 21 players named to the District 2, 4A, D11 football team. Senior Jahir Romero was named the defensive co-MVP of the district. He also earned second team honors as a running back.

County COVID-19 numbers down sharply

Ochiltree County’s COVID-19 numbers have seesawed wildly since last week, with the current numbers showing a steep drop. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s total COVID-19 cases now stand at 497, a drop from 555 on Friday afternoon.

Farm and ranch symposium set Dec. 1

The Panhandle Farm and Ranch Management Symposium hosted annually by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will take place virtually on Dec. 1 even though the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show has been cancelled for this year.
