Another quiet week for crime

It was another uneventful week for crimes during the week, with few offenses reported to local law enforcement. Taylor Head, 1823 S. Baylor, reported that a truck and vehicle had been damaged at the residence. Both were keyed by a sharp object.

USDA announces increase to some CRP incentive payments

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is increasing incentive payments for practices installed on land enrolled in the Continuous Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is upping the Practice Incentive Payment for installing practices, from 5 percent to 20 percent.

Phishing scam targets some TDLR licensees

An unknown number of people appear to have been targeted with an email that asks them to validate their profile information with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

OGH confirms nine COVID-19 deaths in county

Ochiltree General Hospital has now confirmed the seventh, eighth, and ninth deaths of Ochiltree County residents due to the COVID-19 virus.

HARD WORK IN ROUGH CONDITIONS

Work crews from the City of Perryton responded to a water leak at the corner 9th Street and Main on Tuesday. The leak affected two businesses and a residence. Crews from the city got the leak repaired and the street patched up in less than a day, despite frigid, snowy conditions.

Commissioners approve final law enforcement center billings

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met Monday at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners met with Jeff Heffelfinger, lead architect at Southwest Architecture in Fort Worth, the firm that designed the new Ochiltree County Law Enforcement Center.
