Kelly Brown is at the top of his field – track and field that is. The local sports fan is in high demand with his latest profession. Since being called into action at a local high school track meet to replace the starter, he has skyrocketed to the top level of the sport.

Dead sheep and burglary reported

A burglary and dead livestock were investigated during the week. Patrick Otto, 10 S. Date, reported his residence had been burglarized. Taken were a laptop and a tool box. There is a suspect in the case.

Earl of Roast Beef

The sandwich is named for the Fourth Earl of Sandwich (1718-1792). He would make a meal of meat in between two pieces of bread so he would not interrupt his stay at the gambling tables.
