Still no active COVID cases in county

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ochitree County continues to hold steady at zero. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 stands at zero, unchanged from Tuesday afternoon.

Wind storm blasts through Ochiltree County

Extremely strong winds buffeted parts of Ochiltree County Thursday night, causing damage to some property. Ochiltree County Sheriff Terry Bouchard said wind damage was limited to areas near Highway 15 and between County Roads 9-11, where some power line poles were knocked down.

Rifle and Pistol Club sets monthly meeting

The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, July 1, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The club will be discussing new and ongoing projects. All are welcome — new memberships and renewals will be available.

Museum fundraiser offers pork tenderloins

The Museum of the Plains will hold a fundraiser selling smoked pork tenderloins on Friday, July 2, from 3-6 p.m. Prices are $15 each or two for $25. PARSPA scholarship available

The Perryton Area Retired School Personnel Association (PARSPA) has a scholarship available for any junior or senior in college or post graduate majoring in education and planning to become a teacher. Applications are available now, and the deadline to submit an application is June 30.

Swimming lessons offered

Swimming lessons will be offered at the Perryton municipal swimming pool on July 12-15 for children ages 4 and older. Lessons will begin at 9 a.m., and the cost is $20 per child. Please call 435-1142 for more information.

Snack Pak 4 Kids sets summer schedule
