Active COVID-19 cases rise again

Local active COVID-19 cases are back on the rise. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 have risen to 25, up from 19 on Thursday afternoon.

City proposes water, sanitation rate increases

The Perryton City Council agreed on a proposed tax rate, and heard the first reading of ordinances increasing sanitation and water fees at its meeting Tuesday evening. The sanitation ordinance would increase the rate $2.50, from $19.50 for residential customers and $26 from $23.

County holds budget workshop

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court held a special meeting on Monday morning. The bulk of the meeting was devoted to a budget work session.

Information needed on park vandalism

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers needs information this week to solve the recent vandalism at two city parks. On July 27, it was reported to the police department that the restrooms at Leatherman Park had been vandalized.
