USDA announces CRP program signups for 2022

Agricultural producers and landowners can sign up now for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), a cornerstone conservation program U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) The General CRP signup will run from Jan. 31 to March 11, and the Grassland CRP signup will run from April 4 to May 13.

State shows increase of COVID-19 cases in county

The Texas Department of State Health Services is recording an increase in COVID-19 cases in Ochiltree County. According to data from TDSHS, the county has had 71 new cases of the virus in the last 14 days, an increase of 92% over the prior 14 days.

City’s February sales tax payment up 27% for month

The City of Perryton is starting off 2022 with a bang, sales tax wise, with another large increase in its monthly payment. The city received a check for $348,053 in February, an increase of over 27% from February 2021. For the year so far, it has received $619,480 in payments, up 40% from 2021.
