Council hears request for change to alcohol ordinance

A request for an amendment to the city’s ordinance on alcohol sales in a residential area and awarding a bid for work on water well 7A were the main items of business for the Perryton City Council Tuesday evening.

City’s sales tax payment is up over 13% in May

The City of Perryton saw another upswing in its sales tax payment in May. The city’s payment of $309,971 was up over 13% from last May. For the year, its total payments of $1.37 million are almost 28.5% higher than 2021. A check of area cities saw all of them also notched an increase for the month.

Early voting starts Monday for runoff

Early voting begins this Monday, May 16, for the May 24 runoff election to decide party nominees in several statewide races. The early voting period runs just one week for the election, May 16-20.
