Genealogy society to meet April 7 The TX-OK Panhandle Genealogical Society will meet Thursday, April 7 at Perry Memorial Library at 6 p.m. The topic will be “brick walls.” Anyone interested in genealogy is invited to attend.

Still no COVID-19 cases at OGH

Ochiltree General Hospital has again tested no new cases of COVID-19 this week. According to Chief Nursing Officer Jyme Kinnard, RN, OGH completed 43 total COVID-19 tests in the last seven days, with no positive cases. Kinnard said the last positive case at the hospital was tested on March 17.

May 7 elections early voting starts April 25

Even with two elections on Saturday, May 7, voters will find it simple to cast ballots in each. Ochiltree County and the Perryton Independent School District are holding a joint election for the two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution and to elect two members to the Perryton School Board.

Perryton FD assists with Beaver Co. fire

The City of Perryton Fire Department assisted with the battle against a large range fire in Beaver County on Tuesday. Perryton Fire Chief Paul Dutcher said the fire department sent three trucks out to assist with the blaze.

Perry Memorial Library’s last Storytime session of the year on last Wednesday morning gave youngsters attending the program the chance to hunt for Easter eggs hidden around the library, in addition to listening to stories and working on some arts and crafts projects.

Wolf Creek chapter receives several statewide DAR awards

The Wolf Creek Chapter of the National Society of the daughters of the American Revolution met March 22 at First United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Cynthia Shattles, Corene Munday, Bobette Doerrie, Mary Ann Shearer, Betty Caddel and Virginia Scott.
