Farney, Gilbert named Rotary Student of Month

Perryton High School seniors Kade Gilbert and Halley Farney have been named the Rotary Club Students of Month for April. They were special guests of the club for lunch at its meeting April 7, where they each spoke about their high school experiences as they near the end of their senior year.

Students from Wright Elementary School’s second grade classes got to enjoy a party at Stark Park on Friday afternoon after meeting their Accelerated Reading goals. In addition to time on the Stark Park playground equipment, students also got a cotton candy treat.

Five Rangerettes make All District

Five Rangerettes have been named to this year’s All District 4-4A Basketball team. Tapped for the All District team were Erin Merkel and Tanya Navarrete. Earning honorable mention honors were Rangerettes Samantha Ramirez, Mackenzi Stokes, and Emma Martinez.

City sales tax payment up 20%

The City of Perryton’s monthly sales tax allocation continued to show a healthy increase in April. The city received $207,017, up 20% from last year. For the year so far, it has received $1.06 million, an increase of almost 34% from 2021.
