Here’s how taxpayers can resolve common after-tax-day issues

This year’s deadline to file and pay federal income taxes has passed for most people. If a taxpayer is due a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. However, those who owe and missed the deadline without requesting an extension should file quickly to limit penalties and interest.

Funeral service for fallen Marine set for Thursday

The funeral service for Pvt. Waldean Black, a Perryton resident killed 80 years ago in the attack on Pearl Harbor, will take place on Thursday, April 28, at 3 p.m. Thursday has been designated Pvt. Waldean Black Day by the City of Perryton.

Perryton Stone Age Fair set this Saturday at Expo

The annual Perryton Stone Age Fair is scheduled for this Saturday, April 30. The popularity of the event has necessitated a move from its longtime location at the Museum of the Plains to the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The fair will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Teacher in alleged incident arrested

A teacher involved in an alleged incident of educator misconduct has been arrested. David Alexander Drew, 32, was arrested April 20 on a second degree felony charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student involving a 17-year-old female student at Perryton High School.
