School may be out for the summer, but Snack Pak 4 Kids is still working hard to make sure kids get delicious and nutritious snacks. The organization is distributing snack bags every Thursday through the end of July from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Stark Park, Leatherman Park, and Murphy Park.

Fireworks show set at Lake Fryer

The Perryton Lions Club will be hosting its Annual Fourth of July Fireworks at Lake Fryer in Wolf Creek Park on Sunday, July 4. This annual fireworks show by the Lions Club is a long-standing tradition in the community. The display will begin just after dusk, about 9:30- 9:45 p.m.

State reports increase in local COVID-19 cases

The State of Texas’ COVID-19 numbers for Ochiltree County jumped sharply late this week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the county has had 14 new cases of the virus in the last 14 days.

Meramec Caverns

Meramec Caverns is the largest commercial cave in the state of Missouri. Known as the “Cave State,” Missouri is home to more than 6,000 surveyed caves. Over the centuries, local tribes of Indians used the caverns as shelter.
