Kids attending Perry Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Program on Tuesday were treated to a storytelling program by Will Hill, a Native American who works with the Oklahoma Arts Council. The program took place at Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus.

Texas State Parks share six tips for staying safe on the trails

As we enter the summer months, Texans are heading to Texas State Parks to enjoy time outdoors. Last year, 43 state parks reported 102 heat-related illnesses in humans and pets. Since Jan. 1, 54 heat-related incidents have already been reported, compared to 34 reported by this time last year.

Amateur radio group participates in National Field Day

Amateur radio members of the Top of Panhandle ARC participated in the 2022 AARL National Field Day on June 26. The purpose of the event was to practice communication skills in case of a disaster. A total of seven people from Perryton, Booker and Pampa met at Dempsey Malaney’s ranch on Wolf Creek.

Business vandalized

A couple of cases for vandalism were investigated by police during the week. Classic Cuts, 14 SW Ninth, reported the front glass door of the business had been shattered, and the lock to the front door was also damaged. Estimated damage is $1,000. A residence at 921 S.
