IRS offers guidelines for divorced, separated parents on who claims child as a dependent

Parents who are divorced, separated, never married or live apart and who share custody of a child with an ex-spouse or ex-partner need to understand the specific rules about who may be eligible to claim the child for income tax purposes.

Frank Phillips College Allen Campus, continued its annual Kids College last week, with activities planned for kids from ages 4-14. The “Canvas Painting” class let young artists create a new masterpiece every day, from blank canvas to finished product.

Hit and run accident reported

In a quiet week for police, only one incident was made, but the county jail was fairly busy. A hit and run to a blue pickup parked at 906 Jefferson was reported. The suspect vehicle is a white work truck.
