Coffee Memorial Blood Center in Amarillo hosted a special Boots and Badges Community Blood Drive on Tuesday afternoon at Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus, as part of the Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration.

Drilling permits up again in July

The Railroad Commission of Texas issued a total of 901 original drilling permits in July 2022 compared to 779 in July 2021. The July 2022 total includes 782 permits to drill new oil or gas wells, 15 to re-enter plugged wellbores and 93 for re-completions of existing wellbores.

People should donate carefully after disaster to avoid scammers

After an emergency or disaster, people rally to help victims by donating money. Unfortunately, this can give criminals an opportunity to prey on them by soliciting donations for fake charities. Scammers may also pose as federal agencies to dupe disaster victims trying to get disaster relief.

NRCS taking easement aplications for 2023

While the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) accepts easement applications on a continuous basis, applications for the 2023 fiscal year Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) funding consideration must be submitted to NRCS by Nov. 4, 2022.
