Snack Pak 4 Kids to meet Aug. 29 Snack Pak 4 Kids will meet Monday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Williams Cafeteria to pack snack bags. Parking is available in the back of the school next to the Administration Building. Masks are optional, and hand sanitizer will be provided.

County commissioners set Monday meeting The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court will meet on Monday, Aug. 22, at 9 a.m. at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.

Information needed on flooring burglary

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers needs information this week to solve a burglary. On July 26, a burglary of a building was reported in the 22nd block of Fordham. Taken from the building were approximately 60 boxes of flooring and 30 rolls of padding.

College students should study up on these two tax credits

Anyone pursuing higher education, including specialized job training and grad school, knows it can be pricey. Eligible taxpayers who paid higher education costs for themselves, their spouse or dependents in 2021 may be able to take advantage of two education tax credits.

PJH situation ends without incident

An incident at Perryton Junior High on Friday led to a “lock down” situation and was resolved without incident. Shortly before lunch on Friday, PJH was placed on “secure/lock out” status. PJH staff were working with a disruptive student who was upset, according to the Perryton ISD.

Preparations were underway on Friday at the Museum of the Plains as staff and volunteers worked to get the museum ready for Pioneer Day on Saturday. One of the high points of the Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration, Pioneer Day runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
