Commissioners renew contracts

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Many of the items on the agenda involved contracts the county holds with a number of local organizations. The commissioners approved the annual contract between the county and the Museum of the Plains.

DAR celebrates Constitution Week

At the request of the Wolf Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Perryton Mayor Kerry Symons signed a proclamation designating the week of Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week. This Constitution week marks the 235th anniversary of the signing of that document.

Rangers to play Wildcats

The Rangers will hit the road for a short drive to Canadian to play the always tough Wildcats Friday night at 7 p.m. Canadian has had a rough start on the season, with a 1-2 record. In their season opener, they easily handled Seminole, OK, 49-14. The Wildcats were already up 28-6 by the half.

BUSCHMAN WORLD CHAMP Austin Buschman, a former Farnsworth resident, took first place in August at the Precision Rifle World Cup 2022, a competition administered by the International Precision Rifle Federation. The competition took place in Bitche, France, a small community on the German border on Aug. 6-12. Buschman scored 159 impacts out of a total of 175 shots to take the titles of World Champion and Open Division Champion.
