Perryton High School choir students attended Region and District auditions in Amarillo on Oct. 4. Students in Region Choir include the top 20 performers each in soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.

United Way drive tops 37% of goal

The Ochiltree United Way’s 2023 fund drive continued to gather steam last week, and is now at 37% of its $94,300 goal. By Friday, the campaign had raised $35,217. Six new 100% Companies, in which every employee contributed to United Way, were added to the list.

Herald to become weekly on Nov. 1

After much consideration and discussion, the Herald will become a weekly, beginning Nov. 1. With rising postage, printing and fuel costs, among others, the transition to a weekly will be more cost effective.

City sales tax payment is up 26%

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payment for October showed another big boost from 12 months ago. The city’s allocation for the month was $288,730, an increase of 63% from October 2021. For the year to date, the city has received $2.73 million, up nearly 26% from 2021.

Parkinson’s support group to meet The Perryton Area Parkinson’s Disease Support Group will meet Friday, Oct, 14, at noon at New Hope Fellowship, 2128 S. Ash. Lunch will be provided. The program will be provided by AccentCare Home Health with Renita Logan, a certified “LVST Loud” instructor.
