Commissioners approve sign-on bonus for new deputy

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday, Nov. 14, at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. The commissioners approved a $3,600 sign-on bonus for a new deputy in the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department. The deputy is required to work for the county for 36 months after being hired.

Perryton Elks Lodge 2368 donated $4,000 to the VA Hospital in Amarillo to help with supplies for residents of the facility. The donation was made possible through one of the grant programs available to Elks Lodges across the country. Commissioners hold short meeting

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court held a short meeting on Monday, Nov. 7, to handle some yearend business. The commissioners approved the hiring of a new deputy for the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department, as well as a $3,600 sign-on bonus if he works for the county for 36 months.

Alamo Club makes wind chimes

The Alamo 4-H Club met Oct. 24 at the Expo Center. Club members made wind chimes for the program, led by Rylan Oquin and Rhonda Merrick. The business meeting was conducted by Rylan Oquin, president, and vice president Karson Pribble.
