I smell bacon. Breakfast is a cookin’ tonight (Thursday) at 6 p.m. I absolutely love breakfast for supper, especially when someone else is doing the cooking. We will have a variety of casseroles, sausage, biscuits ‘n’ gravy and different desserts to choose from. The cost is $12.

Jennie June Club has program on charcuterie boards

The Jennie June Club met Jan. 11 at Perry Memorial Library. Hostesses were Kris Erickson, Linda Kile and Kaye Neufeld. The program was given by Aimee Carreon, owner of “Graze with Aimee,” 6 SW Fourth Ave. She opened the charcuterie board shop in April 2022.

FFA, 4-H members to show 110 animals in stock show

The 85th annual Ochiltree County Junior Livestock Show and Sale is slated for this weekend, Jan. 20-21. The Perryton High School FFA and the Ochiltree County 4H members will be showing 110 animals. The categories for this year’s show and sale include steers, heifers, sheep, meat goats, and swine.

Rotary Club to host Cherry Pie Contest

The Perryton Rotary Club will host the annual Cherry Pie Contest and Sale on Saturday, Feb. 11. The event, which is the club’s largest fundraiser, is an open competition to find the best cherry pie bakers in town.

Local volunteers for Snack Pak 4 Kids got together recently at Williams Intermediate Elementary School to pack snacks for hungry kids. Volunteers meet every few weeks to pack snack bags with nutritious food to help food-insecure students stave off hunger.

Council okays removing fire damaged home

The Perryton City Council moved forward with demolishing a damaged home at 2306 Baylor Court at its meeting Tuesday evening. The home, owned by Danny Juarez, has had two fires, the latest in November.
