ERCOT can’t be sued, high court rules

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday ruled that ERCOT, which operates the state’s power grid, is a government entity and is immune to lawsuits resulting from Winter Storm Uri in February 2021. The 5-4 ruling reversed a previous judgment from a Dallas appeals court, The Dallas Morning News reported.

So the center’s chefs organized a quick hamburger cookout for last Friday’s lunch. A joint meeting of the Friendship Quilt Guild’s day and night groups was held June 13 at First Methodist Church. Night guild president Randi Ortega conducted the meeting. The program was given by Michelle Fox on “The Story of Feed Sacks.”

Commissioners okay disaster related items

Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met for a regular meeting on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. County judge Charles Kelly opened the meeting by thanking county staff and emergency management personnel for their hard work during the disaster over the previous week.

The Perryton School Board has named a lone finalist for the superintendent position. After a special board Meeting on June 22, the board named Greg Brown as the lone finalist. After a 21day waiting period, Brown will begin his service as the superintendent.
