Tips to stay safe in summer heat

The dog days of summer have certainly arrived, and with the soaring temperatures Texas State Parks is sharing seven tips to help Texans enjoy time outdoors safely. Last year, 47 state parks reported 141 heat-related illnesses in humans and pets.
Members of the Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce met last Wednesday at the Museum of the Plains with members of the local business community who had been affected by the June 15 tornado. The meeting was held to listen to the questions and concerns local business owners have in the aftermath of the tornado. Discussion ranged from questions about state and federal relief money to grants from the Texas Historical Commission and more.

Benefit events to be held for tornado recovery

A number of events have been announced for the coming weeks to benefit recovery efforts from the tornado that struck Perryton on June 15. A golf tournament to benefit Perryton disaster relief will be held this weekend, July 8-9 at the Booker Golf Course.
Perryton Lions Club members got together on Saturday morning to get fireworks unloaded and fuses installed in anticipation of their annual Fourth of July fireworks show at Wolf Creek Park. OGH board okays district purchases

The Ochiltree County Hospital District’s Board of Directors met for their regular monthly meeting on Monday evening at The Seasons Assisted Living Center. Among other items on the agenda, the board members approved a number of new purchases for the hospital.
