Allen Campus students graduate

Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus graduated 61 students during commencement ceremonies at the Borger campus. Students receiving an associate in arts degree included Stephanie Esquivel, Ezequiel Martinez, Shona Mount, Yureisi Ornelas, and Dalton Weinette.

County enjoys another week of plentiful rain

Perryton and Ochiltree County were treated to even more rain this past week. KEYE Radio’s official rainfall total for the past week was 2.09 inches. The station’s recorded total for May was 8.67 inches. Elsewhere around the county, Dempsey and Kara Malaney reported 4.35 inches of rain.

OGH sets car seat check Ochiltree General Hospital will offer a free car seat check for parents on Friday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bartlett’s Lumber parking lot. This will give parents the opportunity to know for sure if their child is using the right seat.
PJH CHOIR WINS SWEEPSTAKES TROPHY— Perryton Junior High’s Sixth Grade Choir competed at the Dumas Music Festival recently. The choir received three Superior ratings in both concert performance and sight reading, earning a Sweepstakes rating and trophy. The PJH choir director is TKaye Arruda, and the piano accompanist is Brenda Schnabel.

Workshops on grain grading set Aug. 1-2

Two one-day grain-grading workshops on Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 in Amarillo are open for registration. TheT exas A&M AgriLife Extension Servicewill host the workshops. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the program following from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
