City sales tax payment drops slightly for month

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payment for the month of September took a slight dip. The city received $247,537, down a little over 1% from last September. Its year to date payments of $2.28 million, are down 6.6% from 2022.

Rain showers bring cooler temperatures

Perryton and Ochiltree County welcomed new rain showers on Sunday and Monday, with the rain ushering in cooler temperatures and the county’s first taste of fall. KEYE Radio’s official rainfall total was 2.93 inches. Mary Dudley, in the central part of Perryton, reported 3.20 inches of rainfall.

Damage incidents investigated

Several incidents of criminal mischief, and other incidents were investigated by police recently. A John Deere push mower, with mismatched front tires, was stolen from 100 S. Jefferson. The driver’s side window of a vehicle was shattered while parked at 200 N. Indiana.

Annie’s Project for women in agriculture coming to Amarillo Oct. 2-Nov. 6

The nationally awarded workshop, Annie’s Project – Education for Women in Agriculture, will be offered Oct. 2-Nov. 6 by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Amarillo.
