Rette powerlifters win regionals, 12 headed to state

The Rangerette powerlifting team brought home the regional championship for the eighth year in a row. In addition, 12 girls have advanced to state. “We have 16 medalist and will be sending 12 girls on to state,” Coach Casey Arruda said.

BIG WINNER—Zach Valdez, left, was the big winner in a half-court shot contest sponsored by Perryton Realty during the Ranger and Rangerette basketball games.. He pocketed $500 for making the impressive shot on Feb. 6. To encourage students’ attendance at games, raffle tickets were given to all students attending. If their ticket was drawn, they had a shot at the big prize. Pictured with him is Perryton Realty owner Bryce Hale.

Such wonderful blessings have come our way in the last few weeks. First off, the Perryton Rotary Club donated some yummy cherry pies from their contest. We served them last Wednesday during our meal and got rave reviews.

Laxton gives program to Jennie June Club

The Jennie June Club enjoyed a program on the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus at its meeting Feb. 14 at the FPC Workforce Center. Hostesses were Mary Carman, Kaye Neufeld and Pat Ellis. Cassi Laxton, provost of the Allen Campus program.
