City receives $2.7 million grant from EDA

Last Friday, the U.S. Department of Economic Development Administration formally announced the City of Perryton as the recipient of a $2.7 million grant from the EDA.The announcement was made by Jorge Ayala, regional director of the U.S.
Local county residents are turning out for the Ochiltree County Farmers Market every Saturday for their pick of farm-fresh vegetables, homemade bread and pastries, and handmade crafts and quilts. The Farmers Market will be open in the Perryton National Bank parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through mid-September.

Recent Ochiltree County Jail activity: Claude Elder, 42, was arrested on a fourth degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1-1B less than one gram. He was released on $7,500 bond.
