Rainstorms blew through Perryton and Ochiltree County late last night and early Wednesday morning, bringing plenty of welcome precipitation to the area.KEYE Radio’s official rainfall total for the period was 2.96 inches.

Ribbon cutting set for new health center An open house and ribbon cutting for the new Perryton Health Center at 3101 Garrett Drive will be Monday, Dec. 9, from 5-7 p.m. In addition to the ribbon cutting, there will be a building naming dedication, tours of the facility, and refreshments.

Commissioners okay vehicle purchases

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Tuesday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners approved the purchase of several vehicles for the county.

DAR making plans for Wreaths Across America set for Dec. 14

The Wolf Creek Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are ready for this year’s annual Wreaths Across America ceremony.For the tenth year, Ochiltree County will participate in the nationwide Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m.

In addition to presentations recognizing every veteran attendee, there were also musical and poetry performances. City’s sales tax payment drops 21%

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payment for November took a big hit over last year.The city’s payment of $247,973 was down 21.5% from last November. It’s year to date payments are not as severe, with $2.77 million, down 4.5%.Around the area, about half of the cities saw increases.
