Alamo Club has meeting

The Ochiltree County 4H Alamo Club met at the Expo Center.Rhonda Merrick led the program, with members creating spaghetti towers.The members broke up into four teams and made towers out of spaghetti noodles and marshmallows. Whoever had the tallest tower won.

United Way drive tops 73% of goal

The Ochiltree United Way’s 2025 fund drive continues to inch toward its $96,000 goal during the past week.As of Tuesday, the drive had raised $70,397, which is 73% of its goal.Another new 100% Company joined the list, Perryton Satellite Center, bringing the total to 17.

Commissioners approve Expo Center agreement with PISD

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners approved an agreement with Perryton Independent School District regarding the use of the Ochiltree County Expo Center.

The Wolf Creek Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are ready for this year’s annual Wreaths Across America ceremony.For the 10th year, Ochiltree County will participate in the nationwide Wreaths Across America ceremony this Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m.

Crypto mining facilities must register with PUC

Cryptocurrency mining facilities connected to the state’s primary electric grid must register with the Public Utility Commission under a rule passed late last month. The rule was mandated by a bill passed in 2023 requiring crypto mining facilities using more than 75 megawatts of power to do so.
