JUNIOR LEADERSHIP AWARD WINNER— Ochiltree County 4-H held its annual awards ceremony Oct. 10 at the Expo Center. Rylan Oquin was the recipient of the Junior Leadership Award, presented by North Plains Electric Cooperative. Oquin has been a club president, club reporter, County Ambassador, awards committee member, and meat goat project leader while in 4-H. The Senior Leadership Award was given to Chloe Tanner, who was not present.

The pet bakery and boutique is owned by Ryan and Audra Wells.

Jennie Junes have program on history of local library

The Jennie June Club met Oct. 12 at Perry Memorial Library. Hostesses were Cynthia Andreas, Barbara McKinley and Phillis Oquin. The program, “History of Our Library,” was given by librarian Sandra Sears. She said the first library was started in 1925 by the Sorosis Club, with around 100 books.

HARVEST HAYRIDE— Ochiltree County 4-H’s Clover Club, for children in kindergarten through second grade, enjoyed a hayride on Monday afternoon. Kids and their parents loaded onto the hayride last Monday afternoon before taking a short trip through town to enjoy some ice cream.

Jim and Penny Clark have invited us all to The Museum of the Plains on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 2-4 pm for a big celebration in honor of Phyllis Price’s 100th birthday. How blessed we are to have that little fire cracker lighting up our world for this long. Have a wonderful birthday Miss Phyllis!

Quilt guild day group names challenge winners

The Friendship Quilt Guild day group met Oct. 12 at Community Worship Center. The string quilt challenge entries were revealed, voted on and the winners were announced. The wall hanging category winner was Cynthia Shattles, with Barbara Hawkins taking second place.
